A General Purpose Rifle (GPR) is a versatile, mid-length weapon system designed to perform effectively across a wide range of combat scenarios, from close quarters to extended engagements. Typically chambered in 5.56 NATO or 7.62 NATO, GPRs feature barrel lengths between 14.5″ and 16″, offering a balance between maneuverability and ballistic performance. These rifles are often equipped with variable power optics (e.g., 1–6x LPVOs), backup iron sights, and modular accessories like foregrips, lights, and suppressors to adapt to mission-specific needs.
